HouseWorkbench is provided free for personal, informational use to help you plan a home project's materials, quantities, and budget. Using a tool does not create a contract, a quote, a purchase order, or a relationship with any contractor, retailer, or manufacturer. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell, install, or finance anything.

What a plan is and is not

A result on this site is a quantity, purchase-unit, or budget estimate calculated from the measurements, product choices, and prices you provide. It is not a structural calculation, an electrical or plumbing design, a permit determination, a code-compliance opinion, or a substitute for a manufacturer's own installation instructions. This site does not guarantee that a plan matches what you will actually need to purchase, what a project will actually cost, or that a project planned here is safe, permitted, or compliant with any local requirement.

Verification remains yours

Where a plan names a fact that still needs verification, a product's installation instructions, a local building or zoning requirement, a site condition, or a qualified professional's review, that verification is your responsibility before acting on the plan. Do not treat a result from this site as clearance to skip a manufacturer's instructions, a required permit, or a professional's judgment on your specific property.

Local data and saved plans

Any project you save is stored only in your own browser, as described on the privacy page. You are responsible for exporting a saved plan if you want a backup or want to move it to another device; this site cannot recover a plan that was never exported and was later cleared from your browser.

Acceptable use

You may not use automated tools to scrape or systematically extract this site's content beyond ordinary personal browsing, present a result from this site as a professional assessment, permit approval, or code-compliance determination, or use the site in a way that disrupts its availability for other visitors.

Changes and contact
